The owner of a major dog training and boarding facility, Darcey specializes in the safety and behavior of working dogs. Recognizing and leveraging each K9’s unique abilities. Darcey trains and mentors teams with a focus on handling, welfare, and reliability. She is grounded in a deep understanding of dog psychology, training signals, and welfare considerations.
Darcey is committed to professional development, interagency collaboration, and community outreach. She regularly contributes to protocol reviews, develops training curricula, and mentors new individuals/teams/companies—instilling a culture of accountability, ingenuity, and resilience.

Romeo Ingreso worked for a large metropolitan law enforcement agency in the Los Angeles area for 30 years. Romeo's area of expertise is in the field of tactical canine deployments and the training of police service dogs and their handlers. Romeo handled police service dogs for over a decade in both a patrol and SWAT environment. Romeo was the unit K9 trainer and was responsible for police service dog procurement, all facets of police service dog training, firearms training and related tactical training for several years. Romeo has participated in actual operations including armed barricaded suspects, high risk warrant services, high risk area and building searches and hostage rescue operations. His understanding of dog behavior and how it relates to tactical canine deployments allows him to train police service dogs to an extremely high standard. Romeo has trained with SWAT teams and military members throughout the nation. He is a recognized subject matter expert in these areas and is frequently sought out for expert witness testimony.
In addition to his background in police service dog handling and training, Romeo has been a dog sport enthusiast for over two decades. He is an adept and skillful helper/decoy and was selected as the back half (courage test) test decoy for both the Schutzhund North American and National championships, a prestigious honor in the dog sport word. He has also raised and trained several dogs from puppies who were eventually placed into K-9 units where they served successfully for many years. Romeo is responsible for conducting all law enforcement training, dog procurement and overseeing all training at HK9.

Carlos served in the United States Navy for 14 years, conducting Maritime Interdiction Operations in international waters. After his service, he pursued his passion for working dogs. Carlos plays an integral part in the selection of our police dog prospects and is responsible for conducting their daily training. Carlos has participated in several bite dog sports. He is a certified French Ring decoy and actively decoys in several other protection dog sports. Carlos has many years of experience training and producing high level working dogs.
